Nature
I once had a discussion with a River Warden for the water systems of New Mexico. He told me that every river that he knew of was overseen by people ... No wild rivers ... anywhere.
It was the early 1990s and that exchange opened my eyes. What - or where - is Nature in it's "natural" state.
It was a pivotal moment in my awareness of the state of the planet.
In looking through my photographs of "Nature" I noticed two main areas of collection:
1. Mitigated: Nature obviously altered through human intervention.
2. Unmitigated: Nature seen as a closed system and a wonder of beauty.
In fact I see the line between the two as quite mutable.
